If you cannot open your PPF file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a PPF file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

PPF file format:
To view or edit PPF files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Below is our analysis of the PPF files:
The PPF file type has no uniform or dominant file format. The following file formats are most commonly found in PPF files:
- 20% of all PPF files start with the magic bytes XPFH, which are always the first bytes of this file format. A typical file size is 70 MB. It is a modern file type. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as ETIT, XPFH, EUID, IHDR, pHYs, EICQ and IDATx. Files like these are about genos, style, indian and jazz.
- 15% of all PPF files start with the bytes %!PS-Adobe-3.0, which are crucial for this file format. PPF files can be up to 68 MB in size, but are often around 280 KB - 16 MB. The files contain the following words: %!PS-Adobe-3.0, CIP3BeginSheet, CIP3AdmJobName, def and %%CIP3-File Version 2.1. Files like these are about cmyk.
The remaining 65% of all PPF files are files with no common format, often e.g. Micrografx Picture Publisher 6-10 document, PlayStation Patch File, DAISY Protected Package File, ZIP, GIF and CPLProject. Tagged as mygo, resc, exist, profile, patch or five. If you want to find out what your PPF file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.
