What is an SMC file

SMC files mostly belong to ZSNES by ZSNES Team. An SMC file is a disk image extracted from a Super Nintendo Entertainment System cartridge. It contains an exact copy of all data saved on the video game cartridge. Super Nintendo Entertainment System emulators such as ZSNES can mount and run an SMC file. Another type of SMC file is a 3D architectural model saved by Solibri Model Checker. This file is actually a ZIP archive with a different filename extension. SMC is also the filename extension of the downward trend chart file created by Plaxis 3D geotechnical engineering software for the earthquake analysis of a building.

How do you open SMC files?

You need a suitable software like ZSNES to open an SMC file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
